KUWAIT: HH The Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah shooting championship will be launched today, with the participation of shooters from all six GCC member countries at Sabah Al- Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex. HH The Crown Prince will be represented by Hawally Governor Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

President of the Higher Organizing Committee, President of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Eng. Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi said preparations started early to organize this distinguished sports event, and duties were allocated to subcommittees, and workshops were held to ensure the best championship in a fitting fashion. Al-Otaibi said HH The Crown Prince Championship, which will be concluded on October 25, will see 200 shooters of both genders participating, and competition are expected to be fierce as the shooting sport is at a high level in Kuwait and the Gulf. He said the championship is considered a major event, awaited by shooters, in order to see each other competing in Kuwait. Al-Otaibi said the board of directors decided to double the prize money to the winners.

All shooters are given free ammunition and entry during the official training and competition. He wished shooters all success, as Kuwait Shooting Sport Club is keen on organizing this championship every year, in appreciation of HH The Crown Prince who never hesitates to support Kuwait Shooting Sport which made Olympic and International achievements with the Grace of Allah, then the fatherly support of HH The Amir and HH The Crown Prince, as well as the wise government. Al-Otaibi also thanked all officials who supported the sport of shooting as well as the Ministry of Youth and Public Authority for Youth and Sports. Al-Otaibi said that Kuwait and Arabian Gulf Countries enjoy officials interest in the shooting sport which produced Olympic and International achievements especially in Qatar, UAE and Kuwait, while Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Oman are exerting tremendous efforts to boost their technical level
