Customs foil attempt to smuggle banned substance

KUWAIT: Airport customs officers foiled an attempt to smuggle 140 kg of mitragynine (kratom) into the country. The banned substance arrived from an Asian country. The suspected smugglers were arrested and referred to relative authorities, the General Administration of the Customs said in a statement.
