KUWAIT: Dasman Diabetes Institute, founded by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, recently hosted Dr Mohammed Al-Onaizi, who is an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at the Faculty of Medicine in Kuwait University.

He received his PhD from the University of Western Ontario in Canada in Anatomy and Cell Biology in 2016 and joined Kuwait University in 2017. His research interests include determining the consequences of diabetes and ageing on neuronal signaling and neurodegeneration.

Dr Onaizi presented at the Institute recently a research-based scientific lecture titled 'Elucidating mechanisms underlying cognitive dysfunction in Type 2 diabetes'. This seminar was well attended by many healthcare professionals, academics and interested people from the Institute and all over Kuwait.
