KUWAIT: The Defense Ministry released a report yesterday highlighting its contributions in support of state departments’ efforts to contain the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In this regard, the ministry pointed out that it established full cooperation with the Ministry of Health since the beginning of the crisis in Kuwait, which resulted in setting up a quarantine camp in Sabhan with a 1000-bed capacity, in addition to three quarantine buildings in Jahra with a 150-bed capacity.

Furthermore, the Defense Ministry prepared a quarantine building in Julaia with a 450-bed capacity, in addition to the ‘medical service quarantine’ with a 595-bed capacity. The ministry provided full logistic support to quarantine sites as well as the Jaber Al-Ahmad Armed Forces Hospital, and maintained full coordination with relevant authorities to make sure that all quarantine sites are on par with international standards, the ministry’s Moral Guidance and Public Relations Department said in the report.
