KUWAIT: Kuwait disabled table tennis team returned home Sunday with 15 medals of various hues after participating in the first Arab Clubs Tournament and Egypt’s International Paralympic Table Tennis Championship. The team was received by Honorary Chairwoman of Irada Disabled Sports Club Sheikha Suhaila Al-Sabah and the athletes’ parents.

Sheikha Suhaila was pleased with the achievements the athletes made in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches. “The large number of medals collected by the players show disabled table tennis has a bright future, especially since the competition was against well-established teams. We are happy to see Kuwait’s flag hoisted high at two major tournaments,” she said.

Sheikha Suhaila lauded the positive participation of Kuwaiti girls, particularly Ahad Al-Rashidi and Malak Al-Enezi, which is a big step forward for disabled table tennis. Chairman of Irada Club Duaij Al-Hajeri said the achievements were the result of hard work and efforts of the technical and administrative departments. He said we hope to always have an outstanding presence in future events.
