drugsKUWAIT: Drugs Control General Department officers arrested two men in Sulaibiya after they sold 100 grams of shabu (methamphetamine) to an undercover agent. Both men admitted under investigations that they left more drugs inside a car, where police found 1.5 kilograms of shabu and 500 grams of heroin. Both suspects are ex-convicts in drugs cases.

Drug overdose

A man was found dead in his car in Adailiya, and preliminary investigations indicate that a drug overdose may be involved. Drugs were reportedly found in his vehicle. An investigation was filed.

Liquor factory busted

Police patrols in Mangaf asked a bus to stop, but the driver refused. Backup patrols were summoned and the vehicle was forced to stop. Two persons came out and ran into a house, from where a foul odor was emanating. The bus was searched and 29 bags were seen. Meanwhile the house where the two entered was found to be a local liquor factory. Three persons were arrested and a fourth escaped through a side door, while 600 bottles of liquor, 293 barrels and equipment were found inside the house.

Acting director

State Minister of Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah issued a decision to assign the Deputy Director General of Kuwait Fire Services Directorate (KFSD) Major General Khaled Al-Mekrad with the director general's duties in the absence of the Director General Major General Yousuf Al-Ansari.

Traffic campaigns

The Traffic Department carried out several campaigns around Kuwait from November 8th to November 14th, resulting in issuing 49,556 citations, and impounding 2,400 cars and 51 motorcycles. Meanwhile, 95 people were detained for grave violations, while 12 expatriates were sent for deportation as they were caught driving without licenses.

Road closed

The Interior Ministry announced that the Nuwaiseeb Road will be partially closed for one day at the 73rd kilometer mark from 6:00am - 11:00am. The closure will start today the direction of Nuwaiseeb border crossing, and tomorrow in the direction of Kuwait City.

Live ammunition

The Kuwait Coastguard Department will conduct a live ammunition exercise in Kuwait's territorial waters in the areas designated by the following coordinates: Latitude 048,37,5.E - Longitude 28,55,O.N, and Latitude 048,30,2.E - Longitude 28,46,8N, as well as the Qarouh and Um Al-Maradem islands. The department urged sea goers to avoid the areas specified aboe on December 7th and 9th, from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm.
