Drug smuggling attempt foiled

KUWAIT: Kuwait Coastguard foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs into Kuwait via sea. The Coastguard Department had received information about a planned drug smuggling attempt, and detectives were able to confirm the data received. Two persons, Kuwaiti and Saudi, were identified and arrested red handed while trying to smuggle a bag containing 60 pieces of drugs. A sample of the drug was sent for testing to determine its contents. The suspects were sent to concerned authorities for further action.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry also announced that central prison authorities arrested two persons who attempted to smuggle contrabands into the prison’s facility. One of the suspects had a mobile phone and a SIM which he attempted to smuggle for his jailed brother, while the other possessed a substance believed to be drugs.
