KUWAIT: Farwniya detectives arrested two Asians for illegally practicing medicine in Jleeb Al-Shuyiukh, said security sources, noting that one of the suspects claimed to be a doctor and the other claimed to be a pharmacist. The suspects were arrested with Ministry of Health (MoH) medicines they confessed to obtaining through a third suspect who worked as a cleaner in a public hospital, from where he stole them.

Bootleggers in custody

Five Asians were arrested yesterday in Sabah Al-Salem for brewing liquor, the Interior Ministry announced yesterday. The arrest came during an operation that followed investigations which started based on information received about the suspect's illegal activity. The five men were taken to the proper authorities to face charges.

By-elections

Criminal investigators arrested participants in a by-election held in Jahra in preparation for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Security sources noted that by-elections are incriminated by law, which penalizes both participants and organizers with a maximum of five years in prison and/or a fine of KD 2,000-5,000.

Arsonists caught

Kuwait Interpol arrested three Egyptians wanted in Egypt for arson, murder and bullying others, said security sources, noting that the suspects were respectively sentenced to life, 25 years and 10 years in prison.

Inspection campaign

Ahamadi security launched inspection campaigns in Mahboula, Dahr, Mangaf, Fintas, Fahd Al-Ahmad, Hadiya, Zour and Khairan. Security sources said the inspections resulted in arresting 87 people including 12 absconders, 20 wanted for civil cases, four wanted for criminal cases, two reckless drivers, one for dual citizenship, three for driving ATVs along main streets and two for not holding any ID, in addition to impounding seven vehicles and 10 ATVs and filing 24 traffic tickets.
