KUWAIT: Residency affairs detectives arrested a mandoub (company representatives) and a citizen who forged the estimated number of workers needed for a farm, as 200 Arab workers are registered to the farm. Following information about the mandoub's activity, he was arrested. He told police that he received KD 150 for each transaction, while the citizen who was also arrested said he received KD 1,000. A visa issued according to similar transactions are often sold to victims of trafficking who come to Kuwait but find no jobs, leaving them to work for others illegally.

Weapons detectives arrested a citizen with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in Saad Al-Abdullah. Officers found an AK-47 and eight magazines in his house.

drugsDrug possession

Criminal detectives arrested a Saudi national red-handed using and trading in drugs, and found 600 gm of shabu (meth) on him along with KD 245 he made from the sales. The suspect was found to be an ex-convict. The market value of the drugs was estimated at KD 21,000. In another case, Ahmadi police arrested an Indian national with 206 suspected liquor bottles in his car. The arrest was made at a checkpoint in Mahboula. Meanwhile, a motorist who was asked to stop but tried to flee was found in an abnormal condition with six syringes in the front seat, seven tablets and eight used syringes, in addition to three used spoons. He was sent to concerned authorities.

Brotherly hate

A citizen in his forties was placed in the intensive care unit at Farwaniya Hospital after being shot in the thigh by his elder brother. The victim said that his brother came to his Firdous house and a verbal dispute ensued, then the suspect fired his weapon.

Workers' fight

Some members of a labor union submitted medical reports following a fight between them, as one side accused the other of destroying the union's furniture.

Accidents

The Kuwait Fire Services Directorate (KFSD) dealt with several traffic accidents, as it received a call about an accident in Jahra between a sports-utility-vehicle (SUV) that collided with a truck and flipped over. The driver, a citizen, was trapped in because of the seatbelt. The citizen was freed and handed to paramedics. Meanwhile, a call came about a car that flipped over on Maghrib Street between Jabriya and Surra, so Mishref fire center responded, and firemen had to cut the car open and freed the driver. Another call was received about a car catching fire on Sixth Ring Road, so Mishref firemen were dispatched, and they controlled the fire quickly and prevented any explosions. Police and paramedics were on hand.

Traffic campaigns

Traffic department carried a series of surprise campaigns in he six governorates during the period from 13-19/12/2015 resulting in issuing 24,118 citations, 946 vehicles impounded, 18 persons detained and 18 expats were sent for deportation for driving without a license.

Municipality statistics

A report prepared by the Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality in cooperation of Public Services Department showed that the number of complaints received through Viva Company and Interior Ministry Operations last November was 185, including general cleanliness fields (complaints about presence of trash, not sweeping streets, negligence by cleaning workers, requesting trash dumpsters, trashed used furniture, trees in front of homes, yards, and restaurants. There were also complaints about falling material (trees, metal, tires, light poles, rocks, gravel and sand dunes). In addition, there were complaints about sewer overflow, cars, boats, abandoned chalets, spoiled food, roaming vendors, selling food stuff, roaming butcher, bachelors complaints in Salmiya. The report showed that the highest rate of complaints received was in Hawally governorate with 42, followed by the capital with 37, Mubarak Al-Kabeer 32, Farwaniya 30, Ahmadi 28, Jahra 16. The report said that all complaints received are entered into the municipality's database, and are followed by the hotline employees, after sending them to concerned authorities at the municipality according to governorates.
