KUWAIT: In presence of the Honorary President Sheikha Halah Bader Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Diplomatic Women's Committee celebrated the advent of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 2022. Among the attendees were the lady ambassadors of the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Republic of Kenya, and the wives of a group of ambassadors and diplomats as well as the members of DWC board Nargis Al-Shatti, Fouzia Abdelbasit, Nazira and Yoke Melinda.

DWC usually prepares for its members a dinner banquet with many popular Kuwaiti dishes on the occasion of the Graish that happens to be celebrated before the holy month of Ramadan every year as part of the Kuwaiti heritage. Sheikha Halah welcomed the attendees and congratulated them for the holy month of Ramadan and gave an idea about the occasion of the Graish and its importance in Kuwaiti society for its cultural, historical and social aspect.

The spouse of the Ambassador of Sultanate of Oman mentioned that the people of Oman celebrate the same occasion, as well as in Sudan, Turkey, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, but with different names. After the Dinner, DWC presented the attendees with souvenirs that serve the occasion and congratulated DWC members for the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the month of worship and blessings.
