KUWAIT: The Ministry of Social Affairs' official spokesperson and assistant undersecretary for cooperation affairs Abdul Aziz Shuaib said both the ministry and the co-ops union are considering importing eggs to make up for a shortage in the local market. Shuaib added that the ministry recently inspected over 60 co-ops and found a severe shortage in strategic egg reserves, adding that in addition to the commerce ministry's decision to ban egg exports for a month, the social affairs ministry and the co-ops union are currently studying the possibility of importing eggs.

Private sector
Director of the Public Authority for Manpower Ahmad Al-Moussa said resolution number 1868/2018 on amending Cabinet resolution number 904/2002 pertaining the percentages of Kuwaiti workers in non-governmental bodies had set the percentages in various economic activities to attract more citizens to join the private sector. Moussa added that the resolution will take effect in June 2019 after collecting extra annual fees of KD 300 per work permit for non-Kuwaitis more than the allowed ratio.
