KUWAIT: The Embassy of India in Kuwait, in association with India Tourism, conducted a 'Know India Seminar' this past Sunday at Radisson Blu Hotel, Kuwait. The event was well attended with the presence of a large number of distinguished guests comprising officials from the Kuwaiti government, representatives from the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, leading tour operators, representatives from airlines, frequent tourists and travel bloggers from Kuwait, members of the media, representatives of lifestyle and travel magazines and members from the Indian Community in Kuwait.


Addressing the gathering, the chief guest of the evening, Yousef Mustafa, Assistant Undersecretary, Tourism Sector, Ministry of Information, State of Kuwait, praised the bilateral relations between India and Kuwait and hailed the role played by people-to-people linkages in nourishing and strengthening the relationship over the years. In his address, Majdi Abu Omar, General Manager of Kuwait Travel and Tourism Agencies Association, spoke about India's rich heritage and the myriad touristic options available for all kinds of travelers. Seetharaman Avany, Assistant Director, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, made a detailed presentation on India Tourism. In addition, the delegates from India delivered a presentation talking about latest product offerings from India.


K Jeeva Sagar, Ambassador of India to Kuwait, talked about India's unique features, its rich and diverse geographic and cultural tapestry, the special connect between peoples of the two friendly countries, and invited industry representatives from both the countries to make use of this opportunity to explore collaboration opportunities so as to provide tourists with enhanced value offerings and seamless travel experience.
A brief interactive session, followed by B2B meetings, were also held during the event. The seminar provided an excellent opportunity for all the industry participants in Kuwait to learn about the new developments taking place in the Indian tourism sector and also provided a unique platform for business networking.
