The Embassy of Palestine to Kuwait celebrated the 54th anniversary of the start of the Palestinian revolution on Saturday at Abdulhussain Abdulridha Theater. In his opening speech, Palestinian Ambassador to Kuwait Rami Tahboub commended Kuwait's major role in the launch of the Palestinian revolution. "Jerusalem is not for sale and this is the message of the President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas to the whole world," he said. "Kuwait was the spark of this great revolution, with the strong faith of this country in the right of the Palestinian people to liberate their country and return and build their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital," he added.

Tahboub affirmed that Palestinian people are proud that the revolution's birth started from Kuwait. "Kuwait embraced the founders of the Palestinian revolution, headed by Yasser Arafat, and provided them with all the support they needed for Palestine and the cause. We commemorate this anniversary to preserve our national project under a conspiracy to eliminate the Palestinian cause by the so-called 'deal of the century', but the Palestinian people have been steadfast against any conspiracy over the years and they still are. Today, more than ever, we are called upon to unite with the Palestinian national project to get our Palestine back," he pointed out.

Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Fahd Al-Awadhi said Kuwait hosted and supported the Palestinian revolution since its inception, and continues to do so at present. "Kuwait continued its support and has always been backing the decisions of the Palestinian brothers and their political system," he said. He assured that the state of Palestine will be independent and its capital is Jerusalem, and Kuwait will maintain its commitment to the Palestinian cause. "This feeling comes from all the Kuwaiti people and we hope to celebrate soon with our Palestinian brethren with victory in Jerusalem."
