KUWAIT: Following up the case of the Ethiopian housemaid who was caught on video jumping from her sponsor's seventh-floor balcony in Sabah Al-Salem while the sponsor filmed her attempt a few months ago, the maid has recovered after receiving proper medical care in Kuwait and returned home, where she was received at the airport by her father and brother. Speaking to reporters, the maid denied that she was trying to commit suicide and stressed that she was only trying to escape her sponsor's mistreatment.

 

2 arrested for fighting

 

A citizen and a Syrian were arrested for fighting inside and outside a Fahaheel cafe, said security sources, noting that both were injured during the fight. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress. In another development, a female citizen filed a complaint against a relative accusing him of insulting her in public, said security sources. A case was filed.

 

Drug suspect nabbed

 

A citizen was arrested in Farwaniya with illicit pills and two pieces of hashish. Security sources said a police patrol suspected the way the man drove his vehicle, so they stopped and searched him.

 

Fire in Saad Al-Abdullah
