KUWAIT: The Education Ministry plans to reduce the number of expatriate teachers of both genders in certain specialties by up to 25 percent, starting from the next school year.

General Education Undersecretary at the Education Ministry Fatima Al-Kandari said the ministry is keen and serious over the replacement process, especially for expats, who will be reduced by 20 to 25 percent in specialties that already have qualified citizens, Gulf nationals or bedoons employed.

Kandari, who spoke after chairing the weekly meeting of education zones, said the reduction percentage will be from the total number of expats working in some specialties, not all. - Al-Qabas
