KUWAIT: An Egyptian mother and her son were arrested while the husband escaped arrest when detectives raided their apartment in Jabriya to arrest them over fraud charges, said security sources. The sources explained that a number of citizens and expats had reported being swindled by the family, as the mother claimed to be a PhD holder working for an Arab organization with many connections. The suspects used this claim to take thousands of dinars from their victims to finalize unfinished transactions. However, detectives found that the family members were in violation of residency laws. On raiding the house, the son and husband resisted them, before the father jumped from the first floor window and fled the scene. A case was filed and a search is on for the husband.
