KUWAIT: Fatat Club Women Basketball team was crowned champions of Kuwait Women Basketball League after they defeated Qurain 69-65. The final match was held at the Kuwait Basketball Association hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdallah Complex. Meanwhile Gulf University team took the third position after defeating Salwa Al-Sabah Club 86-56. Members of KBA board Fadhel Al-Dawood, Ahmad Al-Otaibi and Thamer Al-Shanfa along with Deputy Chairwoman of the women committee Henan Al-Zayed handed the prizes to the winning teams.

The final match was highly competitive as Qurain ended the first half at 29-21. Fatat players later secured a drew by the end of the third quarter at 43 points each. The fourth quarter was ended with a score of 49-49 at the end of regulation. The teams played an extra quarter where Fatat scored 10 points to 6 - winning the Basketball crown for the second time.

Deputy Chairwoman of the women committee Hanan Al-Zayed lauded the unlimited support by KBA and its Chairman Rashid Al-Enezi, and Chairman of the women committee Fadhel Al-Dawood and all committees. Al-Zayed said the second edition of the women basketball league saw several talented players from various clubs, and revealed a notable improvement at the technical and physical level.
