First flag hoisting after liberation

KUWAIT: It was a day full of pride and emotions when Kuwait celebrated on February 27, 1992, the first anniversary of liberation from the Iraqi invasion and the 31st anniversary of Independence, which witnessed the flag hoisting on the mass flag square in down town Kuwait, attended by the late father Amir, Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, at the time he was the Crown Prince and Prime Minister amid official and large presence of Kuwaitis.

The Square flag is the main center for hosting national celebrations and is located near the Arabian Gulf Street, and do host the longest flag of Kuwait with 36 meters in length. It is currently the arena  known as Jaber Al-Ahmad cultural center, which was inaugurated by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on October 31, 2016. - KUNA
