KUWAIT: On the final day of registration, some 26 hopefuls on Wednesday registered for candidacy in the 2022 National Assembly elections scheduled for September 29. The total of those running in elections amounted to 376 candidates. In the first constituency, six candidates registered Wednesday, while in the second constituency, eight candidates put their names on the list. The third, fourth, and fifth constituencies saw two, six, and four candidates registering respectively. The Interior Ministry's elections affairs department opened the door for candidacy on August 29th, allowing registration for a period of ten days. Until September 22, candidates have the right to withdraw from the race, seven days ahead of election day.
