KUWAIT: Fire engines seen outside a Farwaniya building where a fire was reported.

KUWAIT: Firemen from the Farwaniya and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh fire stations responded to a fire in a fifth-floor flat in a Farwaniya building. The fire spread to a sixth-floor flat. The building was evacuated and the fire put out before spreading further. No injuries were reported. Separately, Shaqaya fire station men put out a blaze that engulfed 15 vehicles parked in a municipal vehicle impoundment area. No injuries were reported.

Curfew violators
The Interior Ministry 14 people were arrested for breaking the partial curfew on Sunday. The cases include ne in the Capital governorate, five in Hawally, none in Farwaniya, four in Jahra, three in Mubarak Al-Kabeer and one in Al-Ahmadi. Among the detainees are 11 Kuwaitis and three expats.

Child abuse
Police arrested a woman for child abuse after she was seen assaulting her child physically and verbally in a video that went viral on social media, the Interior Ministry announced Sunday. The arrest happened at the suspect's house where police headed with a warrant in hand after detectives identified her. She was taken to the police station where a misdemeanor case and investigation was opened. Meanwhile, her children were taken to the health ministry's child protection office for medical checkups, the Interior Ministry said.
