KUWAIT: Kuwait Fire Service Directorate officials inspect a building during a recent campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh

KUWAIT: Kuwait Fire Service Directorate's (KFSD) prevention sector carried out a campaign headed by Deputy Director General for Prevention Sector Maj Gen Khalid Abdullah Fahd to inspect buildings and commercial facilities in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. Abdullah said the aim behind this campaign is to make sure preventive conditions are available to ensure safety against fire risks. He said several violations were discovered and dealt with accordingly.

He said firemen face many obstacles in Jleeb, most notably residential buildings used commercially for warehousing, carpentry shops and workshops without licensing, in addition to the lack of firemen's ability to enter such facilities until after obtaining warrants from concerned authorities.

In other news, Kuwait Municipality's public relations department said the department for removing violations in Farwaniya, in cooperation with Jleeb cleanliness center, carried out several campaigns against encroachments against state property in Jleeb. Director of the department Salem Al-Khrainej said the department extends all support to supervisory departments in the governorate. He said the campaign resulted in removing 10 abandoned cars, in addition to 600 cu m cubic of rubbish.
