KUWAIT: Firemen battle a blaze in a paper recycling factory belonging to the Ministry of Health in South Khaitan yesterday

KUWAIT: Firemen from five different fire stations battled a blaze in a paper recycling factory in South Khaitan yesterday, the public relations and information department of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) said. Farwaniya, Ardiya, Subhan, Capital and backup stations were involved in fighting the blaze, led by Deputy Director General for Fire Fighting Maj Gen Jamal Al-Bulaihees. The fire covered an area of 3,000 sq m. No injuries were reported. Meanwhile, an investigation was opened to reveal the cause of the fire. And in following up with the case, Ministry of Education's assistant undersecretary for financial affairs Yousif Al-Najjar said Minister Hamed Al-Azmi gave immediate instructions to install surveillance cameras at all warehouses, as well as selling scrap items every month or two instead of keeping them for long.

Woman falls from first floor
A woman fell down the light shaft of a building in Hawally. Firemen discovered a skylight was broken, and found the woman had fallen from the first floor to the basement while walking on the glass. The woman suffered various fractures.
