Models with hijab, the traditional veil worn by Muslim women which usually covers the head and chest, walked the New York Fashion Week runway for the first time in shows of luxurious Muslim clothes, designed by the Indonesian designer Anniesa Hasibuan and Indian-American designer Naeem Khan. Hasibuan's show took place at one of NYFW venues, the Moynihan Station, in downtown Manhattan.

Hasibuan is not the first Indonesian designer to present collection in the Big Apple. She, however, was the first to showcase a collection that has every look worn with hijabs. In her collection, hijabs were worn with trousers, suits, tunics and colorful silk gowns. Hasibuan began her career just over a year ago. The brand has successfully shown collections at several fashion events including the Istanbul and London Fashion weeks. Naeem Khan's gowns, but not with hijab, have been worn on numerous occasions by US First Lady Michelle Obama.-latino.foxnews.com
