All facilities will be made available to form national team

KUWAIT: The first sporting shooting championship was held at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic shooting complex in which a large number of shooters participated in this exciting sport.

The closing ceremony was held in the presence of the president of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Eng Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi, Kuwait Shooting Sport Club Assistant Treasurer Adnan Al-Ibrahim, KSSC Board member Eng Hussam Al-Roumi and a large number of fans. Eng Duaij Al-Otaibi thanked all participants in the event, adding that the sporting events will continue as it received special interest from Kuwait Shooting Sport Club board members to attract Kuwaiti youth who are interested in such sport. He added that all the necessary facilities will be made available to form a national team that competes internationally just like the teams competing in the Olympic events.

Al-Otaibi concluded by thanking all those who are involved in the organization of the event.

Meanwhile, Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Secretary General Obaid Al-Osaimi acknowledged the efforts exerted by the board of directors to develop the sport of shooting. He said the first championship was characterized by friendly competition, adding that this championship will be followed by others to attract Kuwaiti youth to the sport of our forefathers at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex.

He said the sporting shooting follows the rules of the International Sporting Shooting Federation (FITASC), and KSSC is in the process of forming a team that participates at the international level.

Results are as follows: First place went to Saud Al-Rasheedi, second was Mohammad Al-Daihani and third Saad Al-Mutairi.
