KUWAIT: Minister of Public Works and Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Amani Bugammaz discussed on Tuesday with a number of friendly states' ambassadors the participation of companies from their countries in road ventures. Bugammaz said in a statement after the meeting that it was held in line with guidelines by HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf Al-Sabah, who urged sparing no effort in maintaining roads and enhancing their safety.

She indicated that a number of companies had been selected up for entering tenders for maintaining roads and streets, noting her desire to employ new technologies for renovating roads. The minister affirmed the companies to be qualified must have sufficient expertise and a record of quality works, as well as the ability to train Kuwaiti engineers. The meeting grouped the ambassadors of South Korea, France, Japan, China and Turkey, and the charges d'affaires of US and Germany. - KUNA
