Foreign ministry warns against fraud

KUWAIT: Hackers are using the telephone number of the ministry of foreign affairs (22225555) to deceive citizens, the department warned in a press release yesterday. These swindlers have been calling individuals claiming that they represent the ministry and request fund transfers to fake and suspicious accounts of universities where they have been previously registered. Some of the hackers ask for remittances for accrediting academic certificates. The ministry called for caution against such acts of fraud, warning against dealing with any anonymous persons or phone numbers. - KUNA
