KUWAIT: A former MP lodged a complaint at Surra police station against his wife, charging her with damaging his car. A security source said the former MP told police that he was surprised to see his rental car damaged, and accused his wife of causing it. Police are investigating.

Transsexuals arrested

Hawally police arrested two transsexuals in Salmiya and sent them to criminal detectives. A security source said that patrol officers spotted a car with tinted windows, in violation of the law, so they stopped it and found the two cross-dressers with makeup inside.

Bootlegger caught

Ahmadi police arrested a Sri Lankan man who sold liquor in Mahboula. Four boxes of locally made liquor and two imported bottles were found with him. He was sent to the Drugs Control General Department.

Search for swindler

A female citizen accused a man she knows of swindling her out of KD 7,000 as he told her he will import some goods and trade in them. The man disappeared after receiving the money. The woman told Salmiya police that the man, also a Kuwaiti, convinced her to trade through the Internet by ordering goods and sell them, so she gave him the money. Detectives are investigating.

Children 'kidnapped'

Qairawan police arrested a citizen following a report by his ex-wife that he kidnapped her two children, who were returned to her. The man did not return the children, aged three and one, after a court-ordered visitation.

Student breaks nose

An elementary school student stabbed another student in a Mubarak Al-Kabeer school with scissors, breaking his nose in the process. The student's father told police about the incident and filed a complaint. The case will be referred to the juvenile department for further action.

Police impersonators caught

Farwaniya detectives arrested two Syrian men who stopped expats claiming they were policemen, then robbed their money and belongings. The two men, who are unemployed, confessed to committing eight crimes. Meanwhile, two unemployed Egyptians were arrested following investigations that revealed that one of them got inside phone shops, while the other stood guard. The person inside then stole phones and ran on foot. They said they shipped the stolen phones abroad to sell to avoid arrest in Kuwait. - Al-Rai and Al-Anbaa
