KUWAIT: Heavy damage seen inside the Salmiya apartment after the fire was extinguished.

KUWAIT: Four people were injured in a fire that gutted a Salmiya apartment on Friday. Firemen from the Bidaa and Salmiya fire stations responded to an emergency call reporting the blaze, which had started in a second-floor apartment of the eight-storey building. The building was evacuated and the fire was put out. Four people suffered fractured bones after they jumped out of windows before firemen arrived to the scene. Salmiya Fire Station Chief Col Mohammad Al-Khader was at the site.

Meanwhile, a house in Sabah Al-Ahmad caught fire, so Kout and Wafra fire stations responded and evacuated the house. The fire was in the living room, with a woman suffering from smoke inhalation. Firemen led by Lt Col Ahmad Al-Hammadi put out the fire and the woman was taken to hospital.

In other news, a doctor in the pediatric emergency room of Adan Hospital was attacked by a man and his son, causing him various injuries. A complaint was lodged at the police station.
