KUWAIT: The slaughterhouse official at the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) Mohammad Al-Salem said the authority is ready for Eid Al-Adha at all slaughterhouses. Salem said four central slaughterhouses and 10 temporary ones cover Kuwaiti areas in cooperation with the Cooperative Union, Municipality and other concerned authorities. The meat will be tested to make sure it's safe for consumers. He asked the public not to use roaming butchers who may not be experienced and lack knowledge. In other news, Ahmadi public cleanliness and road occupancy department removed 27 slaughter areas as Kuwait Municipality is preparing for Eid Al-Adha.

Energy services

The annual development plan of the government guarantees everyone modern energy services at an affordable cost. The program aims at developing and increasing power and water production capacity to meet the increasing demand for power by various sectors, be it for consumption or production, and due to expanded construction. The program has four construction projects - the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) is participating with annual financial allowances estimated at KD 153 million, of which 27 percent was spent at the end of the first quarter of 2018-2019.

Housing welfare

The government it is serious about providing housing to citizens and reduce the number of those on the waiting list in its development report for the first quarter of 2018/2019. The report said the housing care program is working on five major construction projects being executed by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) in the long run. These include constructing integrated cities linked with infrastructure, power supplies and services. He said the completion percentage varies in the five projects as Jaber Al-Ahmad is over 80 percent complete, while South Saad Al-Abdullah and South Sabah Al-Ahmad are still in preparatory stages. South Mutlaa project is suffering from some obstacles that have not been resolved so far, such as leftovers from the Iraqi invasion. The South Abdullah Al-Mubarak project is also facing several obstacles.

Surprise visit

Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr Mustafa Redha made a surprise visit to Amiri Hospital to ensure about patients' safety in wards and health services provided to them during Eid Al-Adha. Redha thanked all workers for their efforts in serving patients during the Eid break.
