KUWAIT: Organizing committee of the Fourth Asian Juniors Athletics Championship completed its preparations for hosting the event at the Kuwait Athletics Association field, starting from Thursday with the participation of 33 Asian teams. The tracks are at optimum condition.

Participating teams include teams from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, Iraq, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Brunei, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal, Maldives, Philippine, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Uzbekistan and the host country Kuwait. Kuwait team is participating with 37 athletes (29 male and 8 female) who will compete in the 26 games. The event will be officiated by 30 officials designated by the international association.

President of the Asian Athletics Association Dahlan Al-Hamad (from Qatar) said the continental association is confident Kuwait Association will succeed in organizing the event. He told journalists that Kuwait association under the leadership of Sayyar Al-Enezi has administrative and technical personnel who are capable of organizing the most important regional and international events. He said the participation of this large number of Asian countries in the championship is something positive for the Asian Athletics.
