elections closing up this week, a popular topic of discussion among the people of Kuwait has been of the freedom and rights of citizens. It is ironic that some parliament members who restrict rights gained support from voters, while others who support the freedom of the people also got popular support, showing the diversity in opinions and dilemma of the Kuwaiti people.

One thing to keep in mind though is that, when parliament members run for elections, they all solemnly swear to protect the constitution and safeguard the rights of all the people under the constitution (not just the people that voted for them).

Here are some rights and freedom under the Kuwaiti constitution that each parliament regardless of his personal opinions must respect at all times.
