KUWAIT: The Education Ministry has not made a final decision yet whether to cancel the future schools' system, Assistant Undersecretary for General Education Fatima Al-Kandari announced yesterday. However, the ministry is likely to end this experiment after a recent study revealed that only one out of six public schools where it was implemented is actually adhering to this concept. "Consultations were made and a proposal will be submitted to Education and Higher Education Minister Dr Hamed Al-Azmi to decide whether to continue with it or not," Kandari said. The future schools system was launched 13 years ago as part of an educational overhaul plan. It is based on group teaching methods in which one teacher teaches several subjects instead of having a separate teacher for each subject.
