GCC chief congratulates Iraq’s newly elected Pres.

Riyadh: GCC Secretary-General Dr. Nyaef Al-Hajraf congratulated, on Friday, Iraq’s newly elected President Dr. Abdulatif Rashid, wishing him further success.

In a statement, Al-Hajraf praised the strong relation between the GCC and Iraq, as well as the constant work towards strengthening the joint cooperation in various fields of common interests.

Al-Hajraf also congratulated Mohammad Al-Sudani on his assignment to form a new government in Iraq, wishing him all the success in his new role.

Iraq’s Parliament elected Abdulatif Rashid as the new president of the country on Thursday, after winning a majority of the second round votes.

The elected Iraqi president assigned Mohammad Al-Sudani, from Iraqi Coordination Framework party, to form the new government.
