KUWAIT: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are working together to protect the environment which is part of the Gulf bloc's common action, Kuwait's top environment official said yesterday. Sheikh Abdullah Ahmad Al-Sabah, Board Chairman and Director General of Environment Public Authority (EPA), made the remarks after a virtual meeting of the GCC ministers responsible for environmental affairs.

Kuwait's delegation was chaired by Maryam Al-Aqeel, Minister of Social Affairs and Minister of State for Economic Affairs. Sheikh Abdullah said the ministers discussed the environmental strategy and preserving wildlife. He said they also discussed efforts of the GCC member countries to confront spread of coronavirus. - KUNA
