KUWAIT: Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh took part in a videoconference by the interior ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries on Tuesday. The meeting reviewed a number of security issues of common concern, including the combat against COVID-19 and the preparations to ease the related restrictions, according to a statement from the Interior Ministry's General Directorate of Security Relations and Media.

At the beginning of the meeting, the GCC ministers expressed condolences for the State of Kuwait over the passing of His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, recalling his contributions to the strengthening of the GCC march. The ministers reviewed the latest reports and proposals of the joint expert committees on how to cement the GCC joint action and maintain regional security and stability, the statement pointed out.

The meeting gathered also, from the Kuwaiti side, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lt Gen Esam Al-Nahham, Assistants Undersecretary for Legal affairs Maj Gen Majed Al-Majed and acting director-general of general directorate of follow-up on the affairs of ministerial councils and committees Col Adel Al-Sowaid. - KUNA
