KUWAIT: Kuwaiti donors have put an end to plight of indebted citizens and relieved hundreds of others of legal action and penalties, the Minister of Justice indicated yesterday. The national campaign, entitled 'let them fast with us,' has resulted in paying KD 960,000 ($3 million) worth of debts for those facing civil suits, lifted arrest warrants against 618 persons, closed 800 legal files and freed 25 prisoners, said Dr Faleh Azeb, also the Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs. The minister made the revelation as he received Eid Al-Fitr well-wishers. The government, he said, has succeeded in coordination with welfare societies in paying debts of nationals and expatriates, persons wanted in civil cases, as a contribution to boost social stability. - KUNA
