KUWAIT: A female citizen, who had been reported missing, was recently arrested at a Salmiya café, said security sources. Case papers indicate that a citizen recently informed Mubarak Al-Kabeer police that his daughter had fled the house at night and had not been answering her mobile phone. Tracking her phone's signal, police used GPS technology to locate the girl in a Salmiya café, where they arrested and returned her to her family. The girl said that she fled her family's house seeking 'more freedom.'

Fatal accidents

An Indian man was instantly killed while two others were severely injured when their vehicle lost balance and it turned turtle along Mina Abdullah road. A case was filed to investigate the circumstances behind the accident. Meanwhile, a man was killed while four others were injured when their vehicle lost balance and rolled over several times along Subbiya highway. All attempts to save the deceased's life at Jahra Hospital's intensive care unit failed.

Murderer speaks out

In an interview with Kuwait Arabic daily Al-Anbaa, an Asian man accused of murdering an Afghani national at his sponsor's house in Saad Al-Abdullah two months ago said that he did not mean to kill the victim. He explained that they had a financial dispute as he had given him KD 3,000 to invest it for him, but he neither returned the money nor returned his inquiry calls. "We argued and a knife happened to be on the scene, so I used it and stabbed him three times. I also cut myself in the fight," he said.

Delivery man mugged

A delivery man was recently assaulted by two young men in Jahra, where they stabbed him to the back and stole KD 120 from him, said security sources. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.

Meanwhile, a female citizen reported that an unknown person smashed her vehicle's glass while it was parked outside a wedding hall in Sabahiya and stole her purse with KD 700, a valuable diamond ring, two smart phones, civil IDs and credit cards inside. Cases were filed.

Fugitive caught

A citizen wanted in eight cases including kidnapping a minor and fraud, was recently arrested in Fintas, said security sources. Case papers indicate that patrol officers had pulled the man over when they found him driving a vehicle that carried no license plates. Officers had to chase the suspect with their patrol vehicle and force him to stop. On checking the man's identity, policemen found out that he had been wanted.

Suspected scam

A citizen reported to police that he had agreed with a person who claimed he wanted to start a business with him, and gave him KD 6,000 to import ladies' gowns from India within two weeks. The complainant said that the Indian man started avoiding him after the two weeks' period ended and had not been returning his calls. A case was filed and the suspect is being summoned for further investigations.

Drugs, liquor possession

A GCC national was recently arrested in Salmiya with possession of myth and homebrewed liquor, said security sources, noting that police patrol officers suspected the man who was walking bare-footed and holding a coop plastic bag with him.

Teen robbers caught

Two bedoon teenagers were recently arrested for multiple smart phones and perfume robberies carried out at different stores in Salhiya, said security sources. The suspects were spotted by patrol offices while they were running to flee from police. They had many perfume bottles and mobile phone recharge cards on them. Both suspects confessed to stealing the items and led the police to the stores they robbed.

Landmine

A citizen reported finding a landmine and some ammunition left over since the Iraqi invasion in 1990 at the Metla' desert. A bomb squad was dispatched to the scene and dealt with the explosives. -- Al-Rai, Al-Anbaa
