KUWAIT: Gold price in Kuwait has exceeded the $1,926 per ounce barrier with a five percent increase since the beginning of the year. A report issued on Sunday by Dar Al-Sabaek Company pointed out that gold hovered at $1,926 per ounce on Friday, as the fears of a global economic recession and the easing of the US interest rate hike had a direct impact on the rise gold prices, which is considered a "safe haven" during economic tensions. As for the local market, the report mentioned that the price for 24 carat gold reached KD 18.78 per gram and the 22 carat gold reached KD 17.02 per gram. Meanwhile Silver reached 279 per kilogram.-KUNA
