KUWAIT: Farwaniya governor Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah renewed his warning against "marginal laborers" in the country, pointing to two killings in two days and an increase in the crime rate. Yesterday, a bloody fight in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh between Bangladeshis resulted in the death of one of them.

Police arrested eight Bangladeshis who were involved in the fight, while the body of the deceased was recovered by the coroner. On Monday, an Arab in his 40s stabbed his wife to death in their Nugra flat, then left the house and threatened passersby. Police found the suspect with a knife in his hand, and he was controlled and arrested. Investigations are underway in both incidents.

Sheikh Faisal blamed such crimes on the presence of marginal workers, "who are a burden on the state from all aspects", and described them as an epidemic that must be uprooted.

"Is it realistic to have two crimes in a small society in one day?" he asked, adding that the presence of this group has negative political, security and social repercussions. He called for serious and quick moves to remove this group that has "contributed to the worst alien crimes in our Kuwaiti society".
