KUWAIT: Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Hind Al-Sabeeh disclosed the government intention to build an exclusive resort for the elderly where they can practice sports and receive medical treatment.

Al-Sabeeh added that the resort would be completed by 2020 along with a number of other clubs. Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Al- Berr Club in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Al-Sabeeh said that the club was the first of its kind in the governorate and that it has the capacity of serving 64 senior citizens.

This would provide them an opportunity to make use of their free time by learning crafts or attending social gatherings or practicing various folkloric games while being medically followed up.

The assistant undersecretary for social care affairs, Dr Fatima Al-Mulla said that the center was being built in collaboration with NGOs and Kuwait Society for Islamic Sciences to provide better services for the elderly.
