KUWAIT: Gulf Bank is proud to have been the gold sponsor of the 33rd National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS) USA conference, the largest annual gathering of Kuwaitis outside Kuwait. Entitled "A Conscientious Generation for an Everlasting Nation," this year's conference was attended by around 4000 Kuwaitis and was held under the Patronage of Dr Bader Al-Essa, the Minister of Education and Higher Education.

The conference was launched on 24 November at the Marriott Marquis in San Francisco, California.  The conference's opening ceremony started with a speech by Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwait's Ambassador to the USA, who expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Ambassador Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah addressed the young students by saying: "Your presence in the US is an opportunity that is not available to many as you are enrolled in the most prestigious universities worldwide. You should take advantage of your experience so that we build a prosperous and developed future." Ambassador Al-Sabah also added: "The number of Kuwaitis in the US reached its highest level, you are part of our country outside the country; you are Kuwait's ambassadors. Kuwait is waiting for your return, it is waiting for you to invest what you have learned and acquired. Kuwait is proudly waiting for what you will be able to offer to our nation."

Fahad Al-Jadaan, the NUKS-USA President, commented on this occasion: "A conscientious generation for an everlasting nation is not just a slogan, but also a message that our valued attendees will carry back to our nation after the conclusion of this conference." Jadaan highlighted the potential that Kuwait withholds and explained: "There is no lack in the potential of our youth, no lack in our employers' readiness to invest in the youth and employ them, and no lack in our women's responsibilities and capacities."

The speeches were followed by the night show, sponsored by Gulf Bank, where 'The Concert' performed. This popular musical group includes a member of the Gulf Bank family, Mohammad Al-Sarraf.
