KUWAIT: On May 6th and in a first of its kind event in Kuwait, “Gymnazia” School of Dance and Gymnastics took the initiative to launch the first Annual Gymnastics Competition in Kuwait. It was held at the Kuwait’s Judo Federation indoor stadium. A stadium that could live up to the technical requirements of such a competition. Over 230 gymnasts between the ages of 4 to 17 years old from Gymnazia school participated in team and individual competitions in Rhythmic and Acrobatic Gymnastics.

A huge turnout of enthusiastic parents and spectators cheered and encouraged the gymnasts through the series of beautiful performances. The gymnasts demonstrated high skills in coordination and control over free hand routines and manipulating apparatus such as the ball, ribbon and hoop. Gymnasts at “Gymnazia” have been trained by Olympic experienced instructors and former Olympic participants. A panel of judges was present as well, some of which were renowned International judges brought from abroad.

Medals were presented to the top three winners in the individual performances and the winning teams, as well as gifts of appreciation to the judges and gymnastics instructors, while parents expressed their high appreciation of the event organization as an important sport and community event much needed in Kuwait. “Gymnazia” had a very busy week. On the 29th of April, “Gymnazia” held its 3rd Annual Performance of Dance & Ballet held at TES’s (The English School in Kuwait) theatre, where 200 Dancers and ballerinas performed 42 dances with amazing variations, costumes and vibrant colours under the theme “Mosaic”, which truly was an impressive Mosaic of talents, cultures, and skills. Dancers and ballerinas were also trained by highly educated International Ballet instructors. “Gymnazia” School of Gymnastics and Dance was established in Kuwait in 2015 and has grown over the years to include more than 550 young dancers and gymnasts.
