KUWAIT: Hala February Festival 2016 will kick off on January 28 and will continue until February 24, the festival’s Higher Organizing Committee announced yesterday. The festival comes at the time where Kuwait celebrates 20 years since the assumption of power of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah, 25th anniversary of the liberation of Kuwait from the Iraqi Invasion and the 55th National Day, said the committee in a statement.

The festival will introduce a first-ever type of activities in Kuwait and will allow people to enjoy a wide range of discounts in shopping malls, member of the higher committee and Chairman of Media committee for the festival Waleed Al-Saqabi said. The event will also include entertainment shows for children, exhibition for youth projects, sports activities, religious and poetry seminars, concerts among other activities, Saqabi added.

Meanwhile, he noted that the festival aims to boost Kuwait’s economy, while also promoting tourism in the country and developing the retail market’s field. — KUNA
