KUWAIT: Hawally Club rider Abdulrahman Al-Fuzaie won the first edition of the Al-Ghanem showjumping competition held at Kuwait Riding Club with the participation of more than 300 riders representing all local clubs. Fuzaie succeeded in achieving the fastest time during the differentiation round of the grand prize at a height of 140-145 cm in 40.81 seconds without faults. Abdullah Al-Awadhi ended in second place in 43.54 seconds without faults, and they were followed by riders Shaker Al-Kazmi, Ghazi Al-Jraiwi and Ali Al-Kharafi.

The winners were awarded by Saudi Ambassador Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid and tournament patron Jassem Abdelaziz Al-Ghanem, along with Talal Abdelaziz Al-Ghanem. The tournament was also attended by Sheikh Dr Ibrahim Al-Duaij. Fuzaie was pleased by winning the title of the competition, which is one of the most important successful tournaments during the current 2022-2023 sports season. He thanked the Al-Ghanem family headed by Jassem Al-Ghanem and rider Badriya Jassem Al-Ghanem for supporting the competition, which proved successful as far as organization and fan attendance are concerned.

Asian Champion Rider Ali Jassem Al-Kharafi won the minor's prize at 130-135 cm in 37.19 seconds without faults, beating Nick Chaning, Abdullah Al-Awadhi, Anaz Al-Anaz, Ghazi Al-Jraiwi and Fawaz Al-Subaie. Member of the Higher Organizing Committee, rider Jassem Al-Khalfan, thanked the competition's patron, adding there was a round for the disabled with the help of senior riders to honor them, which is the first time for local competitions. Khaflan lauded the fans' presence, adding this is a qualitative move since the declaration of the game's federation.
