KUWAIT: A homicide investigation was opened in the death of a citizen in his thirties and an 11-month-old girl, who died in a Sabah Al-Ahmad house fire. Firemen found highly combustible material in the area, based on which the case was classified as arson. Meanwhile, forensic experts found traces of blood in the area of the fire and in the man's car. Detectives are also working on the case. The child is the man's niece.

 

Smuggling

 

Border security men arrested a Pakistani who hid a quantity of heroin in a truck at Nuwaiseeb border outlet. Police were able to trace him as there was blood from cuts he suffered after climbing over barbed wire. The Pakistani driver escaped while customs officers were searching the truck. The drugs were hidden in a fire extinguisher.

 

Separately, Kuwait International Airport customs officers foiled an Egyptian man's attempt to smuggle 20,000 Tramadol tablets hidden in a vest he was wearing. Officers noticed he was very nervous near the luggage pick-up area, so they stopped and searched his luggage, but did not find anything. But he was getting more tense, so they searched him physically and found the drug in the lining of his vest. The suspect was arrested and sent to concerned authorities.

Criminal detectives arrested two young men after one of them attacked expats without justification following a dispute over the right of way. Social media activists published a clip of the two who stopped an SUV, then one of them attacked the driver. A passerby asked him to stop, so he ran after him and kicked him. Investigations are underway.

 

Hoax call

 

Fintas police responded to a call about a bomb at a location, so they combed the area, only to discover that the call was a hoax. Police tried to reach the caller but he hung up on them. Detectives are working on the case.

 

Overdose

 

Paramedics rescued a citizen whose friends dumped him in a Fahaheel yard thinking he was dead. The youth was revived in the ICU following an overdose. Two Arab expats noticed an SUV parked in an open yard with three youth carrying a fourth, placing him on the ground and driving off. The two Arabs called police, who went to the area with paramedics and found him in a very critical condition, so he was rushed to Adan Hospital. Investigations are underway.

 

Damage
