KUWAIT: Kuwaiti Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Jabri said on Friday that human development is the key to an institution or a project's success. The minister said in a press release that taking care of people, training them and developing their skills are a springboard for successful work. Kuwait's 2035 development plan and vision launched by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is mainly contingent upon human development, Jabri added.

"Upon instructions from His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, we, cabinet members, attach much attention to Kuwaiti man, who is the country's real wealth," he said. He added that he had instructed the ministry's media development sector to work out an all-out blueprint to train its staff in using advanced media technology, and to hold training courses. The minister set March 26, 2018 as a date for starting these training courses at Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) for six days.

In other news, Dr Khaled Mahdi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (SCPD), recently urged the government to examine information technology and mega data as intertwined components for development. Flow of plentiful data needs to be employed in an optimum manner in the national planning and development, said Mahdi in a statement at the Knowledge Economic Forum, second edition, launched on Wednesday under sponsorship of His Highness the Amir.

Data analysis is vital for decision makers to take sound resolutions and approaches in various fields, said Mansour Al-Methen, Deputy General Director for Information Technology at the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI). Hung Jin, in charge of business solutions at LG, concurred that humongous online data need to be analyzed to be useful in decision making and development. Leonil Deen, of Future Factors Studio, made a statement also approving such opinions. - KUNA
