Human-rights-observed-at-prisionKUWAIT: The Interior Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Correctional Facilities Affairs Major General Khaled Al-Deyyeen stressed that human rights are being fully observed in various correctional facilities and prisons. Speaking on the sidelines of the 'Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Inmates Week' activities which kicked off yesterday, Deyyeen said that Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah and his Undersecretary Lieutenant General Suleiman Al-Fahd have always been keen on observing humane values in all correctional facilities programs

Meanwhile, the correctional facilities' director Major General Ibrahim Al-Essa announced that a special program would be launched soon to provide inmates with job opportunities in order to practically, scientifically and psychologically rehabilitate them and prepare them to integrate into societies after doing their time. Also speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) Dr Humoud Faliteh stressed the importance of sports in fighting drugs amongst youth.
