KUWAIT: A woman was beaten badly by her husband after he discovered she lied to him about being pregnant by forging a medical report. The woman was fed up with her husband's threats that he may marry another woman because she was not getting pregnant. The husband went to the clinic and found the report was incorrect. He returned back to the house and beat his wife till she bled from the nose, then took her to the hospital for treatment.

Man resists arrest

A Gulf national resisted arrest violently and attacked detectives verbally and physically, but failed to escape. The suspect, who has a long criminal record, did not answer police calls, so detectives were asked to arrest him.

Vice gang busted

Residency detectives busted an Asian vice gang and found that seven of its members had come to Kuwait on tourist visas. Undercover sources learned about a flat where vice acts were being committed, so following all legal procedures, the flat was raided and the seven women were arrested, along with the haris of the building as well as the building owner's mandoub.

Bogus maid office

Detectives busted a bogus domestic help office that swindled citizens and expats and arrested 17 Ethiopians.

Sorcerer arrested

Criminal detectives arrested a sorcerer who had become well known in Mirqab. Detectives received information about an Indian using sorcery in making people believe he could fulfill their wishes, and sold magic beads for KD 350. The arrest was made when he was handing over beads he agreed to sell to an undercover agent.

Stolen equipment

A Lebanese told Sabahiya police that a citizen stole his construction equipment. He said he carried out repair work at the citizen's house two months ago, and when he attempted to retrieve his equipment, the citizen refused to return it.

Locally-brewed liquor

Farwaniya patrols arrested an Asian in Jleeb after he was seen carrying a large bag containing 13 locally-brewed liquor bottles. Jleeb police then busted a large liquor brewery where 4,000 bottles were found. Meanwhile, Hawally security police arrested an Indian with 11 bottles of locally-brewed liquor. The Indian attempted to escape as soon as he saw the police patrol and did not stop when asked. He said he was selling the liquor to Asian laborers.
