KUWAIT: An International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation visited the sector of correctional institutions and law enforcement at Kuwait’s Interior Ministry on Tuesday. During the visit, the visitors were briefed on the conditions of prisoners in general, in addition to health services and rehabilitative programs provided to inmates, along with preventive and precautionary measures being taken to curb the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Interior Ministry’s Relations and Security Media said in a statement. The delegation commended Kuwait’s correctional, rehabilitative, health and psychological programs for inmates, the statement reads. Meanwhile, the ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Correctional Institutions Maj Gen Talal Marafie stressed that his ministry spares no effort in offering necessary human and health services to prisoners. He pointed out a strict plan to put the health situation in the Central Prison under control amid the current circumstances, according to the statement.
