KUWAIT: The government is preparing to approve seven new proposed laws and send them to the National Assembly to complete the laws with regards to the legislative requirements within the development plan. The proposals include a law to organize programs and privatization operations for the technical agency for the privatization program, including amendment of law 116/2014 with regards to partnership projects between the public and private sectors, tourism law of the information ministry, amendment of the commercial register, tax procedures, psychological, social and educational advisory services for the supreme council for family affairs and the civil aviation law. Meanwhile, four government areas are working on developing the environmental system in the country through the implementation of six projects worth nearly KD 1 billion.

Storage areas

Assistant Secretary General of the Committees Secretariat at the Council of Ministers Saleh Al-Mulla sent the proposal of the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) to build storage areas in Kuwaiti governorates to avoid the use of basements in private residential areas to Kuwait Municipality and asked for its opinion. Director General of KFSD Lt Gen Khalid Al-Mikrad said in a letter to Deputy Premier and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh that inspections of investment residences revealed that many businesses resort to renting building basements for storage, which is something very dangerous in case of fire. He called for the state to make available storage facilities of various sizes in Kuwaiti governorates, which should meet the standards of KFSD. He proposed the establishment of a government company specialized in logistics, transport and storage, which all investors can utilize.

Hajj mission

Deputy head of the medical services team of Kuwait hajj mission Mugheer Al-Shimmari said the number of Kuwaitis who received treatment in all clinics since they were opened on Aug 13 until Aug 26 in Naseem, Mina and Arafat were 1,340 - 1,105 men and 325 women. He said the medical services team completed its job and the clinics where shut down after making sure all pilgrims returned home safe. He said the team will return today, and lauded the support of Health Minister Sheikh Dr Basel Al-Sabah and Undersecretary Dr Mustafa Redha.
